IT and Software Licensing Agreements Legal and Commercial Management Training Course

IT and Software Licensing Agreements Legal and Commercial Management Training Course

Course Overview

The IT and Software Licensing Agreements Legal and Commercial Management Training Course is designed to equip legal professionals, procurement specialists, contract managers, and IT executives with the core competencies needed to negotiate, draft, and manage complex technology agreements. In an increasingly digital business ecosystem, sound governance of software licenses, cloud services, and IT vendor contracts is critical to mitigating legal exposure, preventing compliance penalties, and optimizing corporate technology expenditure. This comprehensive program bridges the gap between technical IT requirements and commercial contract law, providing actionable strategies to evaluate risks, safeguard intellectual property, and secure favorable terms with major software vendors.

Throughout this five-day training program, participants will explore the full lifecycle of technology agreements, covering fundamental legal principles, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) models. Key topics include open-source software (OSS) risk governance, intellectual property protection, robust indemnification frameworks, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and modern data privacy regulations such as GDPR. Additionally, the course addresses software audit defense strategies, vendor negotiation techniques, dispute resolution mechanisms, and emerging contract dynamics surrounding Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) licensing.
