Advanced Petroleum Economics, Risk Analysis, and Strategic Asset Management Training Course

Advanced Petroleum Economics, Risk Analysis, and Strategic Asset Management Training Course

Course Overview

This intensive 5-day training course is specifically designed for energy analysts and finance professionals seeking to master the complexities of the oil and gas value chain. In an era of volatile oil prices and accelerating energy transition, the ability to accurately value upstream assets and manage risk is a critical competitive advantage. This program provides a rigorous deep-dive into the economic principles that govern investment decisions in the petroleum industry, from initial exploration through to decommissioning.

The curriculum balances technical economic modeling with strategic asset management frameworks. Participants will explore the mechanics of fiscal regimes, including Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) and Concessionary systems, while mastering advanced valuation techniques like Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Expected Monetary Value (EMV). The course also addresses contemporary challenges such as carbon pricing, portfolio optimization, and the integration of ESG metrics into traditional petroleum economic analysis.
