Course Overview
In the complex landscape of international construction, the FIDIC suite of contracts remains the gold standard for defining the rights and obligations of parties involved in large-scale infrastructure and building projects. This specialized 5-day training course is meticulously designed for Quantity Surveyors to master the commercial and contractual intricacies of the FIDIC Rainbow Suite. As the primary custodians of project budgets and financial claims, Quantity Surveyors must possess a deep-seated understanding of how FIDIC clauses dictate payment cycles, risk allocation, and dispute resolution. This course bridges the gap between technical quantity surveying and legal contract administration, ensuring projects remain viable and commercially sound.
The curriculum provides a brief overview of the topics including the selection of the appropriate FIDIC Book (Red, Yellow, Silver, or Emerald), the roles of the "Engineer" versus the "Employer’s Representative," and the rigorous timelines for notices and claims. Participants will dive into the mechanics of valuations, variations, and price adjustments, as well as the sophisticated procedures for handling delays and force majeure events. By focusing on the 2017 updates and the latest industry shifts, the course equips professionals with the strategic tools necessary to mitigate disputes and manage the project's financial health from inception to the final payment certificate.
Upon the successful completion of this Advanced FIDIC Contract Management and Administration Course for Quantity Surveyors participants will be able to:
ü Distinguish between the various FIDIC Books and select the best fit for specific project delivery methods.
ü Navigate the commercial requirements of FIDIC clauses to protect project cash flow.

ü Formulate and defend contractual claims for additional time and payment.
ü Implement the multi-tier dispute resolution process, including the Dispute Avoidance/Adjudication Board (DAAB).
