Module 2: Tractor and Heavy Machinery Safety

ü  Roll-Over Protective Structures (ROPS) and seat belt usage

ü  Safe operating procedures for connecting and disconnecting PTOs (Power Take-Off)

ü  Machinery guarding requirements and prevention of entanglement injuries

ü  Safe loading, hitching, and road travel procedures

ü  Practical Session: Inspecting a Tractor for Roll-Over Protection (ROPS) Compliance

Module 3: Worker Protection Standards (WPS) and Pesticide Safety

ü  Understanding the Worker Protection Standard (WPS) requirements

ü  Procedures for safe mixing, loading, and application

ü  Decontamination procedures and emergency response for exposures

Module 4: Hazardous Chemicals, Storage, and Emergency Response

ü  Proper storage and segregation of fertilizers, fuels, and chemicals

ü  Hazard Communication Standard (GHS/HazCom) training

ü  Spill prevention, containment, and cleanup procedures

ü  Safe handling of anhydrous ammonia and other corrosive chemicals

ü  Practical Session: Drafting an Emergency Action Plan (EAP) for a Chemical Spill

Module 5: Electrical and Fire Safety on the Farm

ü  Identifying and mitigating electrical hazards (overhead lines, portable equipment)

ü  Safe use and maintenance of temporary wiring and extension cords

ü  Fire prevention planning for barns, silos, and storage facilities

ü  Lightning safety procedures for outdoor workers

ü  Recognizing and preventing the spread of Zoonotic Diseases (e.g., Q fever, Leptospirosis)

ü  Personal hygiene protocols after animal contact

ü  Practical Session: Role-Play on Managing a High-Stress Animal Interaction

Module 9: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Agriculture

ü  Conducting a hazard assessment to determine required PPE

ü  Selection and proper use of respiratory protection (N95, respirators)

ü  Care, maintenance, and storage of protective gear (gloves, footwear, eyewear)

ü  Importance of high-visibility clothing

ü  Applicants must live up to Phoenix Center for Policy, Research and Training admission criteria.

2. What is catered for by the Course Fees: Fees cater for all requirements for the training – Learning materials, Lunches, Teas, Snacks and Certification. All participants will additionally cater for their travel and accommodation expenses, visa application, insurance, and other personal expenses.
3. Certificate Awarded: Participants are awarded Certificates of Participation at the end of the training.
4. The program content shown here is for guidance purposes only. Our continuous course improvement process may lead to changes in topics and course structure.
5. Approval of Course: Our Programs are NITA Approved. Participating organizations can therefore claim reimbursement on fees paid in accordance with NITA Rules.

1. Groups of 5 People and Above – Cheque Payments to: Phoenix Center for Policy, Research and Training Limited should be paid in advance, 5 days to the training.
2. Invoice: We can send a bill directly to you or your company.
3. Deposit directly into Bank Account (Account details provided upon request)

Cancellation Policy

1. Payment for all courses includes a registration fee, which is non-refundable, and equals 15% of the total sum of the course fee.
2. Participants may cancel attendance 14 days or more prior to the training commencement date.
3. No refunds will be made 14 days or less before the training commencement date. However, participants who are unable to attend may opt to attend a similar training course at a later date or send a substitute participant provided the participation criteria have been met.
